The unfortunate demise of Princess Diana. Was it an accident? Was the driver drunk? Was she pregnant? Was she murdered? Was there a conspiracy involving her ex-husband? Had the car been tampered with?
I’m afraid I (and most of the sane world no doubt!) have long ago got to the point where I have to say: ‘Who gives a sh*t?’
Yes, she was the most famous woman in the world. And yes, the world mourned her as if she were a saint. But there are hundreds of people who have died before and since in much more suspicious circumstances. Where’s the never-ending press coverage and demands for justice and truth for them?
To rake up all the old conspiracy theories yet again and have another inquest now, which is going to take many months, or most probably years, is a complete and utter waste of time and money. It is not going to reveal anything new.
I’m not being dis-respectful, it is tragic when anyone dies before their time but enough’s enough. We need to treat these endless conspiracy theories, headlines and sensationalism with the contempt they deserve and concentrate on the stark facts:
- The woman has been dead for over ten years.
- She died in an unfortunate car accident while not wearing a seat belt and while being driven too fast by a Frenchman.
- I rest my case, m’lud.
If the car had hit six feet either side of the pillar they would probably have all got out and said, “Phew, that was a bit hairy – now where’s the bar?”
That’s it, end of story. Now let her and this whole episode rest in peace. Pleeeease!
